Mother Goddess / Earth Mother / The
Divine Dam
This is the Mother Goddess. She is the nurturer of all the beings that live and sacrifices herself for her children.
She is associated with the element water because her body gives forth fluid not only to become a Mother, as in the sexual act, but the "waters break" to give birth and then fluid is produced to feed her offspring from her breasts.
Here she is represented by the Goddess Lupa, the wolf nursing Romulus and Remus; the twins.
