The Fire God
This is the God of illumination and enlightenment. In ancient times, fire was the only source of light; light representing wisdom. Fire, at first, was the property of the Gods and humanity acquired it by stealing it. In other words, the knowledge of fire and the illumination it symbolically represents was taken from the Gods, not received as a gift of any sort. The same is true today for each one of us. Knowledge is always hard won, through experience, mistakes, ordeals and practice. Information can be given as opposed to "knowledge," which can be acquired only through "taking for oneself." This card represents the triumph of that acquisition.
