The Lycian Sanctuary

A SELF-PACED PROGRAM OF LESSONS IN PREPARATION FOR INITIATION INTO THE LYCIAN TRADITION

In this program, all tasks in a section must be completed and tested before initiation into the next level can take place. You are welcome to study as much ahead of your current level as you desire and are capable of, however, testing will still occur in sequence and initiations will follow each section mastered.

Section 1. Student Level (non-initiate).

a. General knowledge of the Lycian Tradition by having familiarity with the official website.

b. Memorize the Solitary Opening, including the poem ‘‘The Circle’’ and the Circle Closing. (This includes learning the ritual signs/gestures and rules of etiquette.)

c. Memorize the basic meanings for all the Working Tools and compose, as lengthy as possible, a table of correspondences associated with the tools. Also the student will acquire all four basic tools and fully understand why the tools are located where they are on the altar.

d. Memorize the Consecration Ritual.

e. Have the student choose a handicraft in which to work and improve in, which can be saved for future reference e.g. carving, wood burning, stain glass, calligraphy, pottery, jewelry making, etc.

f. Test the student for competence by having him or her demonstrate, without any outside help, the Solitary Opening and the Consecration Ritual. ( If a coven is available, then this should take place before as many of the membership as possible.)
